For more than twenty years, WMS parent and trustee Denise Trevenen made a deep and lasting impact on Washington Montessori School. Her calm and determined leadership, her compassionate stewardship through times of both celebration and struggle, and her remarkable love for life, served as inspiration for all who were privileged to know her.
The work that Denise spearheaded on behalf of WMS continues to serve its students and our community, and it is with this in mind that Denise’s family — John, Andrew, Sydney, and her parents, Martha and Jon DeVault — have asked that gifts made in memory of Denise be directed toward a scholarship in her name.
The Denise Trevenen Scholarship is awarded each year to a student who exemplifies the qualities Denise valued and reflected in everything she did: leadership, community engagement, strong work ethic, and a joy for life.
