Parents Association

Parent and daughter

If you are a parent of a child at WMS, you are automatically a member of our Parents Association. Welcome! We are a volunteer group that consists of several committees that reach virtually every aspect of the WMS community including classroom community service, enrichment activities, and even the creation of the materials that your children work with every day in their classes. The PA also sponsors special events such as the holiday party, skating party and end of the year picnic. Fundraising is crucial to maintain our high standards of education. The book fair and auction are our two largest events and generate a significant contribution to the school in the form of financial aid, playground equipment, and other items that enhance our children’s experience at WMS. There are many ways to get involved…so please, volunteer; you’ll be glad you did!

PA INITIATIVE 2008

In January of 2008, a task force was created to study how to strengthen parents’ connection to WMS.

Our goals:

1) Parent Connection
2) Effective communication (school to parents & parents to school)
3) Increased parent enthusiasm for school activities
4) Increased trust and loyalty
-believing WMS puts child’s best interest first,
-appreciating that WMS provides a uniquely valuable form of education

Our task force divided this project into 3 categories:

Part 1 - A parent survey (Download results of survey)
Part 2 – Information from other schools
Part 3 – Discussions on ways to improve existing events and hopefully increase parents’ enthusiasm and loyalty
