MS Chorus Event at Fantastic Festivals

On Friday, May 14th, the Middle School Chorus students will be participating in an adjudication festival with the Fantastic Festivals company.  They will be performing an arrangement of "Shendandoah", an American Folk Song, and two pieces from the Anders Nyberg collection of South African "Songs of Praise and Protest", in Zulu and in English.  The adjudicators are typically High School and College directors, who will score the students on aspects of their performance, such as tone, intonation, rhythmic and pitch accuracy, and expressiveness, and then one clinician will work with our singers on ways to improve and on different musical approaches to the pieces we've chosen.  Our chorus members will also have the opportunity to listen to performances by choral groups from other schools, and will enjoy a few hours at Lake Compounce before returning home.
