MS 8th Grade Trip to Dominican Republic

Date: 03/07/2010

Each March during spring break, the eighth grade class is offered the opportunity to travel internationally to participate in a community service and cultural experience.

This year the students went to the Dominican Republic and helped at an orphanage through a group called Orphanage Outreach. Like past March trips, it was a service oriented trip that developed independence, allowed kids an insight into another culture and also gave a practical opportunity for kids to practice Spanish. The work was primarily teaching English in a local school during the day and working and living at the orphanage in the evenings.
