Annual Auction 2010
Date: 04/24/2010
Time: 6:00 PM
April 24th, 2010 marked WMS’s Annual Parents’ Association Auction. The gym was transformed into a gorgeous display of creative works and hundreds of beautiful donated auction items.
The theme for this year was “Designing for Education”, which resulted in an impressive roster of design professionals participating on behalf of School.
We were extremely lucky to have twenty designers donating their time, energy and products this year. Each unique table top was auctioned and sold to the highest bidder.
The items on offer this year were truly impressive. Among the most enticing are: a week in Sardinia on a private 51 foot sailboat with Captain, trips to Napa Valley for wine tasting and harvest sunshine, art and culture in central Mexico and world class golfing in Ireland. In addition, we are featuring a 12 foot wooden hand-made sail boat, and a Brunswick cherry pool table (both of which will be on display in the gym the night of the event!)
So far, WMS parents have donated their time and talents to boosting the entertainment quotient of our community: Stacey and Pels Matthews have greed to host a poker night for 25 in their gorgeous home (complete with cash prizes). We have also been fortunate to have donations of gorgeous jewelry: exclusive designer Kara Ross has given us an exquisite bracelet, at once timeless and very “now”, and we have a strikingly modern pair of Brazilian amethyst and citrine double drop earrings. Surely one of the highlights to be offered will be a stunning etching from Pablo Picasso’s early period of circus performers, “Les Saltimbanques” c 1905. This is sure to be one of the most exciting live auctions in Montessori history.
