MSC SPEAKER: A Special Opportunity February 3rd & 4th
The Montessori Schools of Connecticut is sponsoring a presentation by neuropsychologist Steven Hughes at two locations reasonably close to WMS. He will identify the precise ways that Montessori lessons prompt neurological activity that builds knowledge and stirs intellectual confidence. He will present “Good at Doing Things: Montessori Education and Higher Cognitive Functions” on February 3rd at the Cobb School in Simsbury and on February 4th at the Fraser-Woods School in Newtown, both beginning at 7:00p.m. This will be a worthwhile opportunity to understand more about the compelling case for Montessori education.
Dr. Steven Hughes is imminently qualified as a scientist to evaluate the Montessori Method. His credentials include a PhD, LP, ABPdN and he serves as Director of Education and Research for The Tova Company, and as an assistant professor of pediatrics and neurology at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
